HEMP HURD

70 percent of hemp plants is composed of the hurd material that has a primary market for animal bedding, hempcrete and hempblock production. There are no Hempblock production factories in USA. Hermpblock is imported from Canada, Europe and Australia.

HEMP BAST FIBER

Hemp fiber is used to make paper, textiles, biodegradable plastics, health food, fuel, insulation, ropes, twine, cables, carpets, sail cloth, canvas, ship cordage, clothing.  Long hemp fibers can be spun and woven to fine quality fabric used in clothing, home furnishing textiles and floor coverings. Hemp fibers are also used in automobile industry for reinforcing molded thermoplastics. The short fibers (tow) are used for manufacturing insulation products, fiber board and erosion control mats. The fibrous core can be blended with lime to make strong and lightweight concrete.

Long fiber makes long and strong strands (superior to cotton) suitable for textiles. Hemp is used for making variety of textile products, such as bedspreads, blankets, backpacks, carpets, clothing, draperies, hats, luggage, mattresses, sails, sheets, shoes, shirts, tents, towels and upholstery. Hemp textiles have a number of exclusive advantages over other fabrics like hemp textiles are longer, stronger, more lustrous and absorbent and more mildew resistant than cotton textiles.

Hempcrete/Hempblock factory is in close proximity to the primary supply chain hub; Factory uses smart AI technology with raw material bins automated with conveyor system taking prepared hemp hurd into Hempcrete mixers that combine prepared, prefiltered raw 1/8 inch hurd material, lime, water, sand, prepared bast fiber into proprietary hempcrete formula composition.  Mixers prepare and mix the formula evenly and then disperses hempcrete into automated hose system that blows the hempcrete into the 8” height by 12”width by 16” Length moulds 3 press section with automated compactor system. The moulds would have 8” x12” x 16” as its primary main hemp brick size but other various size production runs would be automated in automated conveyor system. The hempblock molds are automated into a quick drying and staging process to remove gases and then proceeds into an automated palletizing system that is then moved by forklifts into large open-sided warehouses for curing/storage next to the Hempblock Factory.

All the different home sections-- exterior walls, interior walls, roof, flooring are constructed in factory, delivered by truck, assembled by crane. Hempcrete is biocomposite material made from the inner woody core--hemp hurd, lime, sand, and water which is used as a material for construction and insulation.  Hempcrete has been used in France since the early 1990s, and more recently in Canada, to construct non-weight bearing insulating infill walls, as hempcrete does not have the requisite strength for constructing foundation and is instead supported by the frame.
